Dr. Boe has over 15 years experience working within schools and completing psychoeducational assessments. Having completed over 1000 assessments with youth from all backgrounds and in a variety of settings (public schools, private schools, independent schools, home/virtual schools, residential programs college/graduate schools, and within the juvenile justice system), Dr. Boe’s familiarity with school programs/culture,
curriculum, teaching methods, and grade/age expectations comes from direct experience working in schools and with students with varying strengths/needs. Dr. Boe’s collaborative approach with schools and families (giving practical recommendations that can be easily implemented and helping all involved with a student understand that student’s unique learning profile) undoubtedly leads to better outcomes. Dr. Boe understands the demands/expectations put on teachers and is able to support and educate them to best meet your child’s needs. Dr. Boe will also work with you on how to advocate for your child and what supports/accommodations can and should be offered for your child if needs are identified. Navigating all things school related (admissions/placement, testing boards, accommodations, services, differentiated instruction, etc.) and working collaboratively with your child’s educational team is part of Dr. Boe’s practice.
Dr. Boe is a Credentialed School Psychologist as well as a Licensed Educational Psychologist. In seeking an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) or for support/consultation on Individualized Education Plans (IEP), it is advised that you seek a provider that is both licensed and credentialed. It is important that an IEE or IEP consultation be viewed through the lens of the Individual’s Disability Education Act (IDEA) and through CA Ed. Code. A Credentialed School Psychologist is well versed in IDEA and Ed. Code which involves laws/regulations that may not be familiar to a non-credentialed psychologist. A Credentialed School Psychologist can determine eligibility (under Ed.Code/IDEA) for an IEP.
We know Professionals and Practices

After working with your child, she can assist with coordination of care and provide referrals to needed practitioners/providers (educational therapists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, etc.). Dr. Boe has served as a Lead Psychologist working in public schools, has supervised numerous interns/practicum students, and has networked with many of the area’s psychologists. As such, Dr. Boe is familiar with the practices in the field and is committed to going above and beyond always providing best practices for all her clients. Dr. Boe’s practical approach results in meaningful, easily understood assessments (questions posed will be answered), leading to treatment strategies/recommendations and understanding of how to implement and apply them. Although assessments are clinical/ diagnostic in nature, and recommendations are researched/evidence based, the implementation and practical application of “now what do we do” is an imperative part of the process.
We make it easy
Dr. Boe is often recognized for her “bedside manner” and the ability to connect and form relationships with youth. Children, teens, young adults tend to gravitate toward Dr. Boe and thoroughly enjoy working with her. Known for developing rapport with youth of all ages/backgrounds and those that have been identified “as hard to reach” has resulted in Dr. Boe being sought after for youth in juvenile hall, treatment facilities, or for children that have had difficulty connecting with adults historically. When your child connects, trusts, and feels safe/comfortable with a practitioner, results tend to be more accurate, valid, and meaningful.
Dr. Boe has three offices (Beverly Grove, Culver City, San Francisco). Dr. Boe also offers weekend sessions (to not disrupt school days) if preferred. She can also make arrangements to test at your child’s school (if the school allows and has private testing space).
Dr. Boe’s assessments are extremely comprehensive and her services do not stop following the assessment.
